Description

The Iron Ranger is an American icon, celebrated for its distinctive style and long-lasting construction. With its toe cap, speed hooks and Vibram® outsole, there is no mistaking this legendary leather boot.

The 8000 Iron Ranger in Oro-Legacy leather combines one of Red Wing’s most popular leathers with one of its most legendary silhouettes. Many years ago, a very similar model was available: the 8112 Iron Ranger in Oro-Iriginal leather. Alongside the classic 8111 Iron Ranger in Amber Harness, the style was considered a true staple in stores during the early 2010s and was immensely popular with customers. The 8112 Iron Ranger disappeared from the collection around ten years ago, but it has now returned with a subtle update. The Oro-Legacy leather is familiar from icons such as the 875 Moc Toe and 877 Irish Setter and is guaranteed to develop a beautiful patina. The 8000 Iron Ranger also shares many features with other Iron Ranger models, including a sturdy Vibram 430 Mini-Lug sole. Its recessed tread pattern provides improved traction on unpredictable terrain without adding unnecessary bulk. The proven Goodyear-welted construction ensures exceptional durability and allows the boot to be resoled.

The boot takes its name from the Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota, where miners needed footwear capable of withstanding harsh working conditions many decades ago. The toe cap, reinforced with an additional layer of leather, and the reinforced heel construction were designed to withstand even the toughest conditions. The light-brown Oro-Legacy leather from Red Wing’s own S.B. Foot Tannery is one of the Red Wing Shoe Company’s most popular shades.

Made in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA.

Size guide

Red Wing shoes run slightly large, so choosing half to one full size below the usual shoe size is recommended. For example, someone who normally wears a size 44 should try a 43.5 or 43. A thin insole can also be added to achieve the perfect fit.
